The main new elements added to the exterior are the use of bold color on the walls combined with the new metal pergolas. At the same time, in the interior, the spaces were unified by removing walls and using the same wooden floor throughout.

The main key of the architectural composition is to preserve the house’s architectural features and combine them with modern applications and materials, bringing it up to date. Towards this direction, it was chosen to expose part of the stone wall on the ground floor, highlight the facades as they were, preserve the old iron front doors, and build a new built-in fireplace on the first floor.

As for the interior decoration, elements reminiscent of the 70s were chosen, with light oak wood, white marble, and tones of green dominating the space. With an emphasis on detail, even the socket/switch hardware chosen has a vintage design.

Finally, great importance was given to the lighting fixtures for the entire residence, inside and outside.

Bespoke furniture was designed to serve the owners’ needs and save space by combining various uses.

Another goal was to properly deal with problems due to age, such as dampness in the ground floor walls which were solved by the appearance of the stone and a system of small pipes to help the evaporation.

At the same time, the energy upgrade of the building was sought with the use of energy-efficient aluminum frames, the insulation of the roof, the external thermal facade, and the heating system with heat pumps and underfloor heating.

In addition to the study, our office also undertook the construction of this project. The main objective of the construction was the aesthetically and technically correct restoration of materials and forms that previously existed in the residence, such as the old mosaic floors on the outside and the old iron exterior doors, which needed repair.
