Coupepe restaurant
For Coupepe, a popular, casual, all-day restaurant in northern Athens, we were challenged to create a new design that would feel fresh, but also familiar for old-time loyal clients. We chose to create a playful atmosphere, rich in textures and popping colours that reference a retro aesthetic – like ceramic tiles, veneer, paper lanterns, salvaged toys and patterned glass.

The design introduces an enclosure made from metallic frames filled with tiles and ribbed glass, to fit the food preparation area that continues into an open bar. The goal here is to create an efficient, compact kitchen, that offers the audience a peek view into the cooking process.

The seating area of the restaurant takes up the front of the space, in parallel with the street facing windows. A variety of furniture and lighting assortments is employed to create an elaborate environment than underlines the cordial atmosphere of the place.
